Have you optimized the real estate on your Facebook Company Page with custom TABS? If not, it is time to learn how Facebook company pages benefit from custom Tabs and how it will take your page to the next level on what you offer your fans. Facebook is one of the only social networks that allows you to create custom content areas which are called TABS. By using these Tabs effectively, you can increase exposure and fan engagement, “Likes” and just plain engagement. (See example below)
You can have up to have 10 Tabs on each company page and there are two ways to add them. First requires a bit of web programming and development, taking code from a web page and pasting it into iFrames. The easier way is by installing Tabs through a Facebook designer providing them with your content and they upload it to your page and create your custom Tabs.
Here are several easy ways you can use Tabs to connect with fans, run competitions, and increase your “Likes”:
- Create what is called Like Gates or Fan Gates
A Like Gate/Fan Gate application allows you to create “hidden content” on a custom Tab on your Facebook Page. In order to reveal this hidden content, the Facebook Gate directs users to first “Like” your Page before they can access exclusive content or discounts. This application will help you build your number of Facebook fans. To encourage new fans to buy from you, use hidden content incentives such as printable coupons, coupon codes, or sample chapters of your book.
- Create Deals & Offers
Another great way to encourage shopping on your Facebook Page is by creating a viral deal, such as a group discount, which is only valid once it reaches the required number of signups necessary to unlock the discount. For example, a restaurant may offer a free dessert deal, but require 200 new “likes” for it to become active. Fans are directed to the tab with the deal and once they have “liked” it complete a short registration form. They then have the option to share it with their own network. Deals such as these are a great way of getting new customers and showcasing your product and can also be capped so they don’t become too expensive to run. Facebook itself allows some local business pages the chance to use their own Facebook Offers for this (https://www.facebook.com/help/offers#admins). If your Page doesn’t have access just yet, or you want more customization options, again you probably need to source out an expert to help you.
- Create an email offer
Direct people to sign up for your email list in order to receive your free report or white paper or whatever you can dream up that is valuable in exchange for someone giving up their name & email address.
